There is not that much information about Urho Saari Swim Stadium that can be verified. I believe that architect was John Comeley Wilson Austin. He was born in England but moved to Los Angeles in 1894. He worked on Beverly Hills City Hall, Griffith Park Observatory and Los Angeles City Hall.

There is very little information about the reliefs “The Swimmers” in front of the building. Some sources say that Anthony Heisnbergen designed them. He was a Dutch born immigrant and came to the United States in 1906. He is best known for his movie theater interiors. His son maintains his fathers company A. T. Heinsbergen & Company, specializing in interior design and restoration of his father’s murals.
